Commence in one of the Arts single bachelor's degrees (Arts; Criminology; Global Studies; International Relations; Media Communication; Music; or Politics, Philosophy and Economics)
Follow any major sequence or specialisation* and successfully complete two years of study (full-time equivalent).
*Students planning to apply for the Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies require advanced bilingual proficiency and must be enrolled in a language other than English as a major, including Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean or Spanish.
During the final semester of the second year of your bachelor’s degree, if you are a high-achieving student* you can apply for the Bachelor + Master's program. Before applying, you should seek a course progression check to confirm your eligibility and receive personalised enrolment advice.
Application Dates
If your application is successful, in your third year you will replace 24 credit points of undergraduate elective studies with specified units from your destination master’s degree. You will also receive a conditional offer for your preferred master’s course.
*You must be achieving a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65% to be considered for entry to the program.
If you successfully complete the requirements of the bachelor's degree*, you will receive an unconditional offer for your selected master's degree. On formally commencing your master's course you will complete the remaining 48 credit points of required master's studies.

*You must be achieving a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60% to be considered for course transfer into the Master's program.
Students combining a Bachelor of Arts with an Arts coursework master's degree have space for one major or one extended major (see the course map in Step 4).
It's possible to complete more than one major, however we strongly encourage you to seek personalised advice on how this can work. Current Monash students should book a 1:1 appointment. Future Monash students can email arts-pg@monash.edu.
For domestic students, all units in the first three years of study (equivalent to 144 credit points) are taken as a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). Students have the option to pay fees upfront each semester or, if eligible, can choose to defer any fees as a CSP student to HECS-HELP.
The final fourth year (equivalent to 48 credit points) is taken at Full Fee. Similar to the above, students have the option to pay fees upfront each semester or, if eligible, can choose to defer any fees as a full fee student to FEE-HELP.
International students pay the associated international full fee for their studies.
Towards the end of your second year (in your bachelor's degree) you may be invited to join the Master's accelerated pathway program if you satisfy the below requirements:
Please note that you should also have a minimum of 24 credit points of free electives available. On joining the accelerated pathway your 24 credit points of free elective units will be replaced with specified units from your destination master's degree.
If you receive an offer to transition into the program in your third year, you're free to accept or reject this. Your offer email will include instructions on how to do this.
Students who successfully complete the requirements of the bachelor's degree*(equivalent to 144 credit points), may apply for a course transfer into the destination master’s degree. Students will continue with the fourth and final year, completing the remaining 48 credit points of the master’s program.
*As long as you attain a minimum WAM of 60% at the end of your bachelor's studies, you will be eligible to continue your chosen master's studies the following year.

If your circumstances have changed and you need to defer this offer, it’s possible to do so and return in a later intake to complete your remaining master’s units. To do this, you must follow the deferral instructions in your fourth year 48-point offer email.
