Research interest:

Membrane separation is considered as one of the advanced technologies due to its small footprint and high energy efficiency. Organic solvent separation is one the application areas of membrane technology and has a wide market in the petroleum industry, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial communities. However, organic solvents could destruct the structure of membrane materials, especially the polymer membranes. I am aiming develop membranes with strong organic solvent resistance which is the most critical demand of organic solvent separation membranes.

Research interest: Membrane-based Techniques for Recovering Lithium

In recent years the demand for lithium has substantially increased because of the continuing applications of rechargeable lithium batteries in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles. My research focuses on the recovery of lithium from salt-lake brine and waste lithium-ion batteries using nanofiltration membranes and bipolar membranes. I have previously researched modification of ultrafiltration membrane for the separation of oily wastewater in my graduate study. During my free time, I enjoy working out and playing basketball.
