Future Healthcare Research Bootcamp
On 26 May 2022, the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) hosted a bootcamp for Future Healthcare – a half-day exploration of how the future of healthcare can better meet the needs of the people involved.
The day included a high-level overview of the initiative, as well as insights from the Deans of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences; Art, Design and Architecture; Information Technology; Engineering; and Arts that captured their faculty priorities, capabilities, intersections, and links to Impact 2030. We also heard critical reflections from key senior researchers and clinicians on the implications of a poorly integrated healthcare system and their impact on patients, healthcare workers and researchers – especially at the point of existing disadvantage, as well as the opportunities our speakers saw for improvement. This was followed by an interactive design-led session exploring key questions and next steps for the initiative, utilising a tactile co-design toolkit.
