Put theory to the test as you design real solutions

Join the Industry Innovation Program (IIP) to gain real industry experience, sharpen your problem-solving skills and boost your employability.

Spark innovation in the brand-new Monash Innovation Hub, where you’ll be supervised by an expert academic. You’ll collaborate with an industry partner and other talented IIP students across STEM disciplines.

You might redesign inefficient processes, develop better products – or deploy exciting new technologies. And the best part? You’ll receive a scholarship to support your studies.

Carbon Capture

Students capturing carbon from the atmosphere

Engineering and design students Joel and Maksis are working with Woodside on the Direct Air Capture project. Their goal? To combat climate change and efficiently remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Launch your career with the IIP

  • Gain industry experience

Participate in a 12-month industry project, develop hands-on practical skills, and study on campus in Semester 1 or 2 while earning credit for ENG4701/FIT4701 and ENG4702/FIT4702

  • Expand your knowledge

Be mentored by an academic supervisor who’ll pass on their expertise in all project areas. And be supported by an industry professional – every step of the way.

  • Grow your connections in the MSMH

Collaborate with your peers and academics in our new high-tech facility. While networking with Australia’s top industry teams, startups and businesses across manufacturing sectors.

  • Graduate career-ready

Bolster your resume and strengthen your employability with the IIP. You’ll learn to work to industry timelines to enhance your problem-solving and project-management skills.

  • Complete your CPD points

Studying engineering? Your project hours will count towards your CPD requirements. In most cases, when you complete the IIP you’ll fulfil all your CPD points.

What you’ll gain from the program

  • Highly relevant industry experience and in-demand professional skills
  • Final Year Project (FYP) delivered through ENG4701/FIT4701 and ENG4702/FIT4702.
  • CPD hours that contribute towards your engineering degree
  • An industry-sponsored scholarship, typically paid at the end of each quarter
