About PROTIC II
PROTIC II is the second phase of the five-year Participatory Research and Ownership with Technology, Information and Change (PROTIC) initiative.
It is an internal collaboration between the Digital Transformation Group, Action Lab, and HumaniSE Lab of Monash Faculty of IT.
The first phase of PROTIC was dedicated to empowering rural women in Bangladesh through the use of mobile devices.
PROTIC II: Theory of change
The ultimate objective of PROTIC II is to harness the power of digital technologies in addressing some of the challenges that disengaged communities face in terms of information access, information sharing, remote communication and organising as a pressure group.
The process promoted in this research aims to contribute to the economic, social and ecological empowerment of people dependent on fishing as a livelihood ('fisherfolks'), domestic workers and tea-garden workers.
