Critical minerals are essential to the global clean energy transition, but developing a successful industry requires more than technical innovation. It also depends on public trust, meaningful community engagement and a strong social licence to operate.
We're working alongside researchers across engineering, science, business and the humanities, the Hub will help ensure the environmental and social dimensions of the critical minerals sector are considered alongside scientific and technological advances.
By understanding how communities perceive critical minerals and supporting evidence-based communication and engagement, the Hub's research will help build the trust needed for a responsible and sustainable critical minerals industry.
