Ideas for change
People discussed ways they believed accessing food could be easier for them and aspects of the food environment that needed improvement. There was an emphasis on affordable and readily available access to locally produced food, whether from farmers or through community gardens. Ideas for change included improvements and expansion of already existing food access initiatives like the Community Grocer by expanding the times and locations this was available. Also included were opportunities for people to build on their knowledge and have access to different transport options due to the current need to rely on cars. There were suggestions of aspects of food relief that could be improved including clear guidance on options available and service delivery that was grounded in dignity and choice.
