General Engagement Steps

In providing advanced preclinical services, we work closely with our clients to design a bespoke scope of work that ensures success relevant to each development stage. Below is our general guide to engagement.

  1. Contact us via mmic-enquiries@monash.edu, providing details and a general outline of your current preclinical challenge. We’ll endeavour to get back to you within 48 hours.
  2. Prior to a meeting, we can enter into a Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA), using either our proforma or client template to facilitate discussions, if required.
  3. During our initial meeting, we’ll aim to understand your current preclinical challenges and priorities, this information can also be provided under CDA after initial introductory discussions at the client's discretion.
  4. After the initial meeting and understanding of your requirements, we will provide one of the following options:
    1. Prepare a proposal that includes a general scope of work and indicative timeframes and costs
    2. For more complex projects, costs and activities may need to be refined based on a more detailed project design stage as part of contracted services. This may include a technical review of the literature,  previous data or reports, and consultation with stakeholders to inform the scope. Any further  engagement is optional beyond this stage.
    3. In the event your enquiry is outside our immediate expertise, we’ll be happy to refer you to other relevant organisations within our network that may be able to assist you.
  5. Once the scope has been finalised and agreed upon by the client, our Monash contracts office will draft a research services agreement (RSA) based on our proforma template, including the commencement date, outline of research services, deliverables and milestones. Terms in the agreement will also ensure that the client retains developed IP.
  6. Once drafted, the client will have an opportunity to review, approve or make amendments that will be reviewed in accordance with standard contractual processes and timelines.
  7. Once both parties have finalised and executed the RSA, the project can commence.
  8. During the project, scheduled project updates will be organised with the client (as outlined in the RSA) to review evolving data and plan the next stages
  9. Upon project completion a final summary report will be issued to the client
