Dr Celine Hung

Senior Research Scientist (Biologics)
Dr Celine Hung specialises in formulation development for nucleic acid delivery using lipid nanoparticles for targeted lung delivery. Currently, her research focuses on developing therapeutics for rapid response to future pandemics.
Celine completed her PhD and Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Advanced Honours at Monash University under Professor Colin Pouton within the Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics department of the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Science. Her research involved formulating lipid-based delivery vehicles for oral peptide delivery, including the study of lipophilic salts and peptide
conformations.
With over 6 years of experience as a pharmaceutical science formulator, Celine has gained a deep understanding of the complexities involved in designing effective delivery systems for drugs and pharmaceutics. Her time as a research scientist has equipped her with a robust skill set covering formulation and drug delivery mechanisms, along with proficiency in analytical techniques essential for
chemical analysis.
Specialty Areas:
- Synthesis of Biologics (solid phase peptide synthesis, synthetic mRNA synthesis)
- Cell Culture and Molecular Biology
- Bioanalytical Techniques and Characterisation
- Pre-clinical Formulation Development and Analysis (lipid-based formulations, lipid nanoparticles, spray-dried powders, tablets, creams)
