Senior Scientist (CMC and Workforce Training)

Dr Igor Chekhtman is our expert in early-stage drug development; specialising in preformulation, physical pharmacy and workforce training. Igor has over 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical sector where he was involved in progressing three products to clinical trials (in the USA, Australia and New Zealand). He has extensive experience in drug product and medical device development, nonclinical program development, and regulatory affairs.


Igor is a registered Pharmacist, and completed his PhD in Pharmaceutics at Monash University, focusing on developing and characterising sustained drug-delivery systems. Prior to joining the MMIC, Igor worked for PolyActiva, a clinical-stage ophthalmology company developing novel biodegradable implants for the treatment of ocular diseases.
