Dr Ken Margo

Senior Research Scientist (Respiratory)
Dr Ken Margo, our expert in particle engineering and pulmonary drug delivery focusing on respirable dry powder and nebuliser formulations, is at the forefront of optimising inhalation product performance. His expertise also extends to solid dosage formulations (capsules and tablets), controlled-release formulations and solidification of emulsions.
Ken completed a Bachelor’s degree and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University, focusing on understanding the influential formulation and device design parameters of current dry powder inhaler products that impact the efficacy of powder dispersion, emitted dose and powder de-agglomeration. Since 2007, Ken has also been a part-time specialist in the Environmental Analytical Chemical Consultancy department at EML (CHEM), conducting water sampling and providing client sample management. During his Bachelor's degree, he was a QC analyst and research assistant at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he gained extensive laboratory technical skills while working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility. Whilst completing his PhD, he was also a technical staff member at Monash University, working with departmental solids, solvents, and biological waste management operations.
