Senior Operations Manager

Dr Tri-Hung (Tri) Nguyen ensures the operations of the MMIC across our two facilities, manages client projects, and liaises with clients, teams, and experts to deliver successful milestones and outcomes. Tri also manages the MMIC Internship program, which allows students to gain real hands-on research experience as part of workforce development.

Tri obtained a degree in Formulation Science and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science from Monash University, focusing on using lipid-based formulations to enhance drug absorption. He worked extensively on characterising and assessing the pharmacokinetics of novel formulations in vitro and preclinical animal models.

After completing his PhD, Tri worked on several projects in formulation development and preclinical assessments, including developing and evaluating a novel inhaled formulation of oxytocin. More recently, Tri has worked closely with key government, industry and academic stakeholders on a project to develop and evaluate the pharmacokinetics of a paediatric formulation for intractable epilepsy. Continuing with his role with the MMIC, Tri works with the team to achieve innovative outcomes for pharmaceutical development and manufacturing challenges.
