Celebrating 60 Years of Donors and Supporters

The Monash University Collection is one of Australia’s most important collections of post-1960s Australian contemporary art. Among its most significant qualities is its focus on emerging artists and practices. Since its establishment—in the year that the first students walked through Monash’s newly opened doors—this extraordinary collection has developed alongside the University itself and is widely recognised for its adventurousness and contemporaneity.

Our current exhibition, Connecting the World through Sculpture, is part of a yearlong program celebrating sixty years of the Collection. It presents six decades of sculpture across three separate iterations: From the Ground UpThe Sculptural Body and In the Air.

On this occasion, we would like to take the opportunity to recognise the generosity of over 200 donors to the Monash University Collection across sixty years.

If you would like to support the exceptional Monash University Collection you can, by making a donation to help shape the future of the museum, becoming a MUMA Contemporary or fostering art through a bequest.
