Canada Student Loans Program The amount you can receive depends on many factors, including:
  • your province or territory of residence
  • your family income
  • if you have dependents
  • your tuition fees and living expenses
  • if you have a disability

N/A Eligible Canadian residents who are enrolled at least half-time in a degree program at Monash University may be eligible for student loans.

Federal, provincial and territorial governments all offer student loan programs to assist students through school. Loans are based on financial need.

US Financial Aid The program will calculate your cost of attendance (COA) to determine your loan amount based on the following:
  • course fees – as stated on your International Student Course Agreement (ISCA)
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – as stated on your ISCA and in accordance with your student visa requirement (one-off)
  • living expenses – approximately AUD$31,500 (housing, utilities, local travel, meals, etc.)
  • computer costs – approximately AUD$1,500 (one-off)
  • other costs – approximately AUD$2,000 (loan fee, books, supplies, etc.)
Your borrowing limits are also determined by the factors below:
  • your status as a dependent or independent student (see dependency status)
  • the year and level of your course
  • previous federal loan and any outstanding amounts
  • your recent income.
N/A To apply for loans offered under the Federal Direct Loans program, you must:
  • be a citizen, national permanent resident or eligible non-citizen of the United States
  • have a valid Social Security Number unless you’re from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, or the Republic of Palau
  • be enrolled at least half-time in an eligible on campus award course at Monash University
  • not be in default or owing a repayment on a grant or a student loan of any type
  • be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements if you are male and aged 18–25
  • file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • pass a credit check for PLUS loans
  • maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • comply with requests for documents that are listed on your Student Aid Report
  • submit all documentation required by Monash University to check your eligibility.
You're ineligible for the US Federal funding if you are enrolled in:
  • some courses offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
  • certificate, diploma, postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma courses
  • courses or units delivered via distance, online or off-campus learning
  • research degrees with research being undertaken in the United States.

Monash International Leadership Scholarship 100% course fees paid until the minimum number of points for your degree are completed (excludes OSHC, accommodation and living costs) 4 Commencing a full time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia (you must have received a full Monash course offer).

Monash International Merit Scholarship $10,000 per 48 credit points (up to A$ 50,000) for the duration of your course. 31 Commencing students with a full Monash course offer or continuing students, and
Undertaking a full time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia. Based on High academic achievement

Engineering International High Achievers Scholarship Undergraduate - $15,000 per 48 credit points, paid towards your tuition fees, up to four years.

Postgraduate - $15,000 per 48 credit points, paid towards your tuition fees.
Varies Undergraduate - A commencing student enrolling in a single undergraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering.
Students must have an ATAR or International equivalent of 95+.

Postgraduate - A commencing student enrolling in a postgraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering.
Students must have achieved a minimum WAM of 75 in their undergraduate degree.
No application is required. All students will be automatically assessed.
Engineering International Success Scholarship $10,000 per 48 credit points, paid towards your tuition fees. 12 A commencing international student enrolling in a postgraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering.
Students must have achieved a minimum WAM of 70 in their undergraduate degree.
No application is required. All students will be automatically assessed.
Faculty of IT IBL Scholarship $18,000 paid in two instalments of $9,000.
22 week placement with one of the industry partners of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Women in IT $6000 for one year only 50 A female student currently in Year 12 or IB, or completed Year 12 or IB in Australia in the previous year and have not undertaken any other tertiary study, and intending to enrol in a single or double degree offered by the Faculty of Information Technology. No application is required. All eligible students who list Monash University as a VTAC course preference will be automatically assessed.
Biomedicine Discovery Scholarship $3000 per 48 credit points of study for the minimum number of credit points required to complete the degree, to a maximum of three years. Variable A current Year 12 or IB student, or completed Year 12 or IB in the year immediately prior to course commencement and has not undertaken any other tertiary study, and are applying for a new course through VTAC.
A commencing student enrolled, or intending to enrol, in Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Scholar Program) at a Monash campus in Australia.
No application is required. All eligible students who list Monash University as a VTAC course preference will be automatically assessed.
Pharmacy International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship Commencing undergraduate student in either the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy at a Monash Campus in Australia. International student has an overseas qualification at the time of application, or an offshore applicant with an Australian qualification who has not applied for a course through VTAC. 4 50% of tuition fees paid per year until the minimum credit points for your degree are completed (awarded to the two highest achieving students).
25% of tuition fees paid per year until the minimum credit points for your degree are completed (awarded to the second two highest achieving students).
No application is required. All eligible students who apply for an undergraduate course at Monash will be automatically assessed.
Faculty of Law Masters International Scholarship $20,000 for one year only paid toward tuition fees. Variable Enrolling in an on-campus Masters degree offered in the Faculty of Law.
Achieved in the top 5% of your previous studies or demonstrated outstanding achievement in a combination of your studies and your work based learning.
Applicants will be assessed on their entire academic record, with a distinction average (or equivalent) preferred.
