Samantha completed a Master's of Biomedicine (Neuroscience) by Research at the University of Melbourne. Her thesis adapted a novel Alzheimer’s stimulation treatment, originally developed at MIT, for potential use in the treatment of anxiety and depressive based disorders. During this project, she discovered an affinity for micro imaging and analysis through 3D analysis of neuronal cells, extracellular structures, and their inflammatory responses.

Since joining MMI in 2022, Samantha has supported and trained researchers across both confocal and widefield microscopy. Samantha has also built custom analysis pipelines using a range of software tools, including Imaris, NIS Elements, CellProfiler, and Fiji/ImageJ.

Given the opportunity, Samantha enjoys shiny side-quests involving programming (Python and R), statistical analysis, and data management.
