Focused Study Sessions
Struggling to stay on top of assignments? Join our Focused Study Sessions to work alongside others and keep your studies on track.
Guided by Learning Advisers from Student Academic Success, Focused Study Sessions are an opportunity to work alongside other students in a quiet, structured study environment. This approach, known as parallel working or body doubling, aims to promote accountability, enhance focus and reduce procrastination.

How does it work?
Sessions are held at the Sir Louis Matheson and Caulfield libraries. There's no need to book - simply turn up on time with your study materials.
A Student Academic Success Adviser will be there to facilitate the session, keep track of the time, and support students as necessary.
Sessions start five minutes after the hour, and last for 45 minutes. During this time, you are encouraged to focus all of your attention on silent study. Sessions are silent, but you are welcome to listen to music through your own headphones.
Following 45 minutes of study, you have the opportunity to discuss any study and learning needs with a Student Academic Success Learning Adviser or book a Learning Advice consultation.
How do I get involved?
