Professional Development and Learning
Our team has been commissioned to develop and deliver both online and face-to-face professional development, training and educational resources for a range of civil bodies, government organisations, non-government organisations, industry and communities, globally. To date, this includes: Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Uganda, the UK and USA.
We are recognised leaders in research-informed, evidence-driven education, and translating this into different settings, and for different audiences.
Here is a select snapshot of this practice; we can be contacted to create content tailored to your organisation and context.
Interventions to tackle the manosphere: Secondary School Professional Development (2025-current)
Naomi Pfitzner with Sarah McCook, Stephanie Westcott, Steve Roberts, Alex Phelan and Ben Scott have developed professional development to support secondary school teachers to address online spaces as pathways to gender-based violence for boys and men, and tackle the influence of the manosphere. These interventions have been delivered to 242 participants across 33 schools, nationally, and the team has been approached by stakeholders from the UK and Netherlands about international expansion.
The Queensland Police Service (2022-current)
Bridget Harris has developed and delivered face-to-face training for the Queensland Police Service, in their specialist domestic and family violence course. As part of this work, she has created a toolkit for police, when responding to technology-facilitated domestic and family violence, which can be used by members on the ground. In 2024, with colleagues involved with the specialist course, she received the Commissioner’s Award for Excellence for this work.
Victoria Police Family Violence Liaison Officer training (2024-2025)
Led by Jamine McGowan and Emily Berget (with Bridget Harris, Jessica Woolley and Naomi Pfitzner), the team was commissioned to develop online education material for Family Violence Liaison Officers that covered: experiences of domestic and family violence victimisation, perpetrator behaviours and tactics, risk assessment processes, and vicarious trauma.
Online violence against women and girls: training and professional development for justice professionals; United Nations (2024-2025)
Bridget Harris developed a suite of educational resources for a range of justice practitioners (legal actors, court support staff, the judiciary, and law enforcement) on the topic of online violence against women and girls, for the UNFPA (United Nations). This training will be rolled out, globally.
We offer interdisciplinary and applied professional learning and development programs for workforces that support, work with and care for people affected by family violence.
