DIPS Platform
The DIPS (Distributed and Intelligent Power Systems) platform aims to broker the large volumes of data generated by high fidelity sensors like PMUs. Rather than using a traditional centralised approach, the DIPS platform is distributed, processing data wherever possible at the edge where it is collected using small GPU accelerated devices. This enables near real time analysis of the energy data allowing for near real time automated adjustments to be made to the energy grid and continual creation of high fidelity data sets.
This work was undertaken by a cross-disciplinary team involving the Monash eResearch Centre (MeRC), building services (Buildings and Properties Division), the Net Zero Initiative and our lab.

The DIPS Architechture processes data generated by sensors at the edge, enabling near real time analytics.
