Foldi Laboratory

Anorexia and Feeding Disorders Group

Welcome to the Foldi Lab

We study the biological underpinnings of anorexia nervosa and feeding disorders using cutting-edge behavioural
neuroscience technologies in animal models.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Metabolism, Diabetes & ObesityNeuroscience BDI Program,
and the Department of Physiology.

Our research

Anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disease, yet available treatments are ineffective, in part due to a lack of understanding of the biological drivers of the condition. Our research aims to uncover the impact of specific genetic, metabolic and neurobiological factors that predispose individuals to pathological body weight loss, with a view to inform the development of novel therapeutic strategies.
