Wholefoods
Vegetarian and vegan food, including lasagne, curry, soup, stir-fry and dessert. We also sell groceries.
Wholefoods is a student-run, not-for-profit restaurant, operating since 1977. It's become a historic icon of Clayton campus.
The cafeteria-style kitchen has a large daily range to choose from. A long-running popular special is the plate of dahl and rice, for only $3.
In the cafe, we offer a selection of warm and cold beverages, including fair-trade coffee, tea, and organic soft drinks and fruit juice. We also sell a huge selection of savoury and sweet food items from toasties, focaccia, nachos, muffins, cookies, cakes and yoghurt.
Wholefoods, in its commitment to people not profit, is sensitive to dietary requirements and caters for nut allergies and gluten, soy and lactose intolerance. Ask the friendly staff and volunteers for more information on how they can cater for you.
So much more than just a restaurant and a cafe, Wholefoods is a vibrant community space, providing the opportunity to its staff and volunteers for direct participation in the governance and day-to-day decision making of the restaurant. We’re committed to providing a safe space and working environment to those who are institutionally marginalised. In line with Wholefoods' safer spaces policy, sexism, racism, xenophobia, transphobia and queerphobia are not welcome.
