Welcome to Applied Microfluidics and Bioengineering (AMB) Lab

We are an interdisciplinary research group at Monash University, developing microfluidic technologies for applications in reproductive biology and medicine, translational medicine, and environmental science. We apply principles of small-scale fluid mechanics, integrated with machine learning and fundamental concepts of cell biology, to understand biological systems at the single-cell level and develop nature-inspired solutions for our long-standing health and environmental challenges. The techniques we use include microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip methods, microscopy, machine learning, image processing, micro-particle image velocimetry (µ-PIV), computational modelling and electrokinetics.
