Council Elections
Monash University Council is the governing authority of Monash University and is responsible for the general direction and superintendence of the University in accordance with the Monash University Act 2009.
The Act requires that one staff member and one student member be elected to the Council, and nominations are now open to fill these positions for a two-year term commencing on 1 November 2026.
Before nominating, please review both the Council Election Procedure and the Council Appointments Procedure to confirm your eligibility. Final appointment to University Council is subject to satisfactory eligibility, probity and integrity checks.
