Guiding principles
Campus life, University sites and workplace culture
An on-campus education is a critical component of who we are and enabling an activated campus environment is critical to delivering world-class education and research outcomes. To support this our primary channel of engagement will be physical, including the delivery of our services and experiences for our staff, students and the wider community.
Our Monash campuses offer world-class facilities — libraries, teaching, learning and collaboration spaces, lecture theatres, labs, art galleries, sporting facilities, outdoor spaces, food and retail outlets, halls of residence and offices. Adjoining our campuses are hospitals, research institutes and research facilities. We provide easy access to convenient car parking and excellent sporting, fitness and health facilities open to all staff members.
Monash flexible working — guiding principles
As Monash enters the next decade under our new Strategic Plan Impact 2030 and we aim to address the global challenges of the age through our education and research, we must also enable our staff settings that optimise how we work, and support our workforce in a modern way.
Monash remains committed to being a fully inclusive campus-based institution, with education and research at the centre of what we do and professional staff services must complement this. Flexible work should complement our commitment to equity and diversity and be repositioned to include all modes of flexibility, not just locations.
Monash’s vision for a flexible work approach is to enable and empower its leaders and staff to embed hybrid working and flexibility into the design and structure of its workforce, space and technology.
