The historic Werribee Park Mansion is one of the largest and most expansive properties open to the public in Victoria. Parks Victoria offer specialised guided touch tours of Mansion for visitors who are blind or have low vision but wanted to offer more.

Using a participatory design process and maker technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting, we created a multisensory accessible map and building model of Werribee Park and Mansion. With a combination of clear print, tactile models and icons, braille and audio labels, the map and model provides a more holistic understanding of the site and can act as a drawcard for visitors.

This project demonstrates the potential of accessible tourism for inclusion and to enhance the experience of all visitors.
