AccessAbility Peer Network

AccessAbility Peer Network

AccessAbility is a peer network that is supported by MATS and run for, and by, students with disability who are interested in IT. It is intended to promote inclusion and enhance the university experience by providing a community of students with common experiences and sharing knowledge, resources and opportunities. As the network grows it will increase in value cumulatively from the ongoing embedding of input and expertise.

The nature of the AccessAbility network adapts over time to meet the changing needs of its members.   Examples of initiatives we might do include coffee catchups, study groups, and industry presentation, advocacy support, technology provision, or industry placement opportunities.  We choose based on member needs!

AccessAbility is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from any Australian university who have lived experience of disability and are studying IT (or are interested in IT). We don’t require proof of diagnosis and you don’t have to be engaged with any other disability support services.

We are currently looking to grow, so please get in touch.
