Native Grains and Tubers Alliance

Monash researchers are working with Aboriginal social enterprise Black Duck Foods to strengthen Indigenous food sovereignty by amplifying the global consumption and production of native grains and tubers.

Together, the team is developing a platform for Indigenous-led governance within Australian agriculture to drive equitable growth and revive sustainable land management practices rooted deeply in tradition.

This will foster meaningful outcomes  for Indigenous communities through market and job creation, cultural revitalisation (e.g. back to land, ancient farming etc.), income generation, community development and the promotion of self-determination and governance.
