Literacy Learning Diagnostic Assessment

Designed for children with persistent difficulties in literacy despite receiving high quality teaching support at school or home.

What’s included:

  • One parent interview - to gather background information and understand concerns.
  • Two to three assessment sessions looking at cognitive ability, phonological processing skills, and current reading, spelling and writing skills.
  • Parent feedback session – to discuss findings and recommendations.
  • Child feedback session – if appropriate, to share insights in a supportive and age-appropriate way.
  • Comprehensive written report – summarising assessment results, interpretations, and recommendations.

Who is this for?

Children showing ongoing learning difficulties in literacy. This assessment can lead to a diagnosis of a Specific Learning Disorder if criteria are met. It does not include assessment of numeracy.

How long do I need to wait?

We accept referrals for comprehensive assessments two times during the year at the beginning of each semester.

The wait time can range between 2 to 12 months.

Cost

  • $650 for the assessment package
  • $500 for the assessment package (for health care holders)
