CLARS member, Dr Tim Bowley, has been appointed Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash Law
Tim has been closely involved in CLARS research projects, international collaborations and seminar programs since 2019.
He is a corporate law researcher and experienced corporate lawyer. His research explores contemporary regulatory debates in corporate and securities law, with a particular focus on the role of shareholders in corporate governance.
Tim's monograph, Activist Shareholders in Corporate Governance: The Australian Experience and its Comparative Implications, was published by Hart Publishing in 2023. Tim also teaches at Monash Law and has expanded the Faculty's corporate law teaching program by developing new postgraduate units of study including International Mergers & Acquisitions and Regulating Shareholder Activism.
In 2025, Tim will develop and teach a brand new unit, Corporations ESG and Society, which explores the policy, regulatory and theoretical implications arising from the increasing intersection of corporate activity, corporate regulation and key societal, political and environmental issues. Prior to his academic career, Tim was a partner in a national Australian law firm and practised in London at one of the leading ‘Magic Circle’ firms.
