Major Conference on Comparative Takeovers and Securities Law in Dublin

Monash Law’s Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS) went to Dublin recently as co-hosts (with the law schools of Vanderbilt University and Trinity College Dublin) of a major conference: Comparative Takeovers and Securities Law Australia, Ireland and the US.

Held on 14 July 2023, conference speakers included judges, former judges, regulators, M&A specialists and academics from Ireland, Europe the United States and Australia. They were Martin Moloney, Secretary General of IOSCO; Hon. Kathaleen St. J. McCormick Chancellor, Delaware Court of Chancery; William Burton Chandler III, retired Chancellor, Delaware Court of Chancery; Joseph R. Slights III, retired Vice Chancellor, Delaware Chancery Court. The Delaware Chancery Court is one of the most important courts in the United States for corporate law matters.

Speaking at the conference on behalf of Monash Law were CLARS Member, Dr Tim Bowley and CLARS PhD student, Michael Lishman. Congratulations to Tim and Michael for their contribution to a vibrant Panel discussion on comparative issues in takeover regulation and dispute resolution.
