Bridging the Gap in Therapy with Rehabilitation Robots

Bridging the Gap in Therapy with Rehabilitation Robots

In Australia, many patients receive far less rehabilitation therapy than recommended, often due to cost and staff shortages. Self-managed exercises can help, but keeping patients motivated is a big challenge.

This project aims to close this evidence-practice gap through the co-design of social robots that encourage and support patients in their recovery journey. By making rehabilitation more engaging, we aim to increase therapy doses in inpatient rehabilitation and contribute to improving health outcomes.
