Monash Investment Holdings

Monash Investment Holdings (MIH) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Monash University that holds equity in companies in which it is a shareholder. It also makes select investments into these companies directly off its balance sheet, using capital from previous successful commercialisation and investment activities.

MIH operates under the trading name of Monash Ventures - a new identity that unifies its venture and investment activities under a single, strategic banner.

The MIH equity portfolio is mostly comprised of spinouts, companies established to further research activities at Monash University, to commercialise the resulting intellectual property.

MIH also supports commercialisation and research translation at Monash by supporting these companies, stimulating external activity (including third party investment) and driving strategic initiatives to grow access to investment capital across Monash and beyond.

MIH’s Board is responsible for key decisions relating to its shareholdings and investments and is supported by a Management Group with expertise in commercialisation, investment, finance governance and legal matters.
