Monash Ventures is the locus for Monash University’s venture and investment activities.

Great research should be empowered to change our world for the better.

Monash Ventures supports and provides funding for the development of high-impact spinout companies that are innovating with Monash University research and intellectual property.

Our range of activity includes: commercialisation and company formation strategy; investor readiness; venture mentoring; networking; capital raising; and capital access through the Monash Ventures Funds.

By supporting the creation and growth of new ventures, we’re accelerating the translation of research into technologies, therapies, services and solutions that generate meaningful advances for communities, industries and economies.

Our three funds

  • Monash Ventures Core Fund

    Our early investment pool focused on proof-of-concept and validation funding. It supports opportunities on a spinout pathway – or recently established – to test technical feasibility and generate early market signals. Up to $200,000 in early stage funding is available to help develop commercial strategy.

  • Monash Ventures Pre-Seed Fund

    Developed in partnership with Breakthrough Victoria’s University Innovation Platform, our $15 million Pre-Seed Fund can invest up to $1 million in early-stage Monash spinouts, as well as providing access to mentoring, networks and investor expertise to help turn research into impact.

  • Monash Ventures Follow-on Fund

    Our Follow-on Fund invests in Monash-related companies with early traction and scale-up potential. It enables Monash to remain an active investor in high-potential spinouts, attract co-investment, and support clear pathways from research discovery to sustainable enterprise and market impact.

Pitches to the Monash Ventures Pre-Seed Fund are open year-round, with submissions  assessed on a rolling basis.

The Fund welcomes both incorporated and pre-incorporated opportunities with strong links to Monash, such as licensed IP, research partnerships or participation in startup programs.

All disciplines are eligible for investment, with applications assessed on a commercial basis.
