Bare*ly Mylk
Australia sends 35,000 tonnes of long-life aseptic cartons to landfills each year due to lack of recycling, a figure expected to rise to 90,000 tonnes by 2034 due to the growing plant-based milk market. This waste contributes to 18 million kg of CO2 emissions annually, requiring 900,000 trees for offsetting.
Bare*ly Mylk are developing a powdered plant-based milk that eliminates the need for long-life cartons, offering a more sustainable packaging solution. Liquid plant milks are 90% water, increasing transportation costs and environmental impact. Their powdered milk allows customers to add water themselves, extending shelf life and making it ideal for camping and travel.
Their aim is to produce the first powdered plant milk in Australia suitable for baristas and designed for coffee and are seeking to partner with cafes for further testing.
