Erler Zimmer
For centuries, medical students have used donated human cadavers, and more recently, plastinated bodies to learn anatomy, which can be increasingly difficult to obtain and very costly.
Erler Zimmer is creating 3D prints of the entire human body, providing anatomically correct plastic prints of body parts including limbs, chests, abdomen, heads, and necks. These models can be used by medical students and health professionals for training or teachers for education, providing a far more cost-effective alternative to current options. Not only is the 3D print series cheaper, it can create models that would otherwise be impossible to visualise, such as the vasculature of the brain.
Erler Zimmer’s anatomical kits can revolutionise learning for medical students and have also been posited to contribute to the development of better surgical outcomes for patients.
