Dr Ruth Park-Jones appointed Senior Director, Commercialisation at Monash University

Monash University has appointed Dr Ruth Park-Jones as Senior Director, Commercialisation within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) portfolio.

Dr Park-Jones joins Monash following 18 years at the University of Melbourne, where she most recently served as the Director of Commercialisation. She has extensive experience working with dedicated teams of research translation specialists to support academics as they translate research discoveries to achieve impact.

With a background in immunology and a PhD in pharmacology, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law, Dr Park-Jones has managed a wide range of commercial transactions over many years.

In her new role, Dr Park-Jones will lead all aspects of the commercialisation process for Monash University research discoveries, providing strategic leadership across intellectual property, licensing and commercialisation activity.

Dr Ingmar Wahlqvist, Chief Commercialisation Officer (Acting), said the appointment reflects Monash’s commitment to strengthening its commercialisation ecosystem: “Ruth brings deep expertise, institutional knowledge and a strong service ethos to this role. She is widely trusted by researchers and partners alike, and she will play a vital leadership role as Monash continues to improve its impact in commercialisation.”
