PhD research – with industry, for industry
The first round of the C&P Program commenced with 17 industry driven PhD projects. The PhD researchers focused on industry projects combining Monash University's capabilities across the School of Chemistry and the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. The PhD researcher and the academic supervisor worked closely with the industry partner to ensure continued refinement and applicability of research directions. The PhD researcher also benefited from an internship within the industry partner company.
Collaborative training for the future
The industry partner companies, and Monash University's Graduate Research Industry Partnership program (GRIPs) jointly delivered more than 60 innovation training development activities during Round 1.
PhD researchers benefited from exclusive workshops such as Procter & Gamble's Serial Innovator Program, which teaches entrepreneurship and the thought processes of an innovator. PhD researchers attended a variety of business related workshops in areas including: intellectual property, commercialisation, innovation in the workplace, project management, chemical industry business environment and Green Chemistry.
