Co-Directors:

Professor Tony Patti is the C&P Network Co-Director, a chemist and member of academic staff of the School of Chemistry, Monash University. He has over twenty years of experience at Monash including 13 years in the role of Associate Dean-Research Training (completed early 2014). He is the current Co-director of the Chemicals and Polymers Manufacturing GRIP. Tony has considerable experience in the design and delivery of research training modules for doctoral candidates and has served on several University committees involved in the reform of the Monash PhD as well as the development several joint PhD programs with international partners (IITB-India and Warwick University, UK). He spent a short period in industry prior to becoming an academic. Over the years, Tony has managed several large research projects involving government and industry partners and continues to work with industry partners in areas of sustainable chemistry, utilization of biomass for chemical feedstocks and soil science.

Associate Professor Victoria Haritos is the C&P Network Co-Director and Deputy Head of Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University. She has spent 17 years at CSIRO before joining Monash University in 2014. Her research interests are combining biology and engineering for transforming feedstock into fuels and chemicals to address future manufacturing needs. Victoria's research also includes discovering and designing enzymes for specific and fast reactions as isolated biocatalysts. In addition, she is researching the systems biology of cells in culture - the underlying reasons behind their heterogeneity and how this can be modified - using the recently installed high throughput culture and single cell analysis facility at Monash University.
