Co-Directors:
Professor Tony Patti is the C&P Network Co-Director, a chemist and member of academic staff of the School of Chemistry, Monash University. He has over twenty years of experience at Monash including 13 years in the role of Associate Dean-Research Training (completed early 2014). He is the current Co-director of the Chemicals and Polymers Manufacturing GRIP. Tony has considerable experience in the design and delivery of research training modules for doctoral candidates and has served on several University committees involved in the reform of the Monash PhD as well as the development several joint PhD programs with international partners (IITB-India and Warwick University, UK). He spent a short period in industry prior to becoming an academic. Over the years, Tony has managed several large research projects involving government and industry partners and continues to work with industry partners in areas of sustainable chemistry, utilization of biomass for chemical feedstocks and soil science.
Associate Professor Timothy Scott received his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne in 2002 and PhD in Materials Engineering from Monash University in 2006. He then proceeded to a postdoctoral research position with Prof. Christopher Bowman in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, followed by a research assistant professorship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the same institution. After a role as an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbour, he is now a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University. His research focuses on the kinetics and thermodynamics of radical and dynamic covalent reactions for the fabrication and manipulation of polymers.
