Welcome to the Parenting and Youth Mental Health research group

Our work empowers parents and carers in the important role they play in the mental health of children and young people. We conduct research to develop and enhance scalable and sustainable parenting programs, and we explore ways to increase the reach and uptake of these programs across Australia and globally. Our focus covers the prevention, treatment, and maintenance of recovery from high-prevalence mental health problems like depression and anxiety disorders.

The group is led by Professor Marie Yap.

We are part of the School of Psychological Sciences and a member of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program. Our work also aligns with the Developing Well pillar of the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health.
