Precinct
Velos is located in one of Australia’s most powerful innovation corridors, the Monash Technology Precinct - the largest employment hub outside of the Melbourne CBD. But more than that, we’re deeply integrated in a purpose-built translational ecosystem that includes the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH), the Victorian Heart Institute (VHI), and Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service.
This rare alignment of clinical care, research and innovation makes Velos more than a health accelerator. It makes us a launchpad that you can connect with to create real world change.
A translational health ecosystem
- Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH): Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital operated by Monash Health. Delivering high-volume cardiac care, training the next generation of clinicians, and acting as a living lab for health innovation.
- Victorian Heart Institute (VHI): The research and education powerhouse of the hospital, delivered by Monash University. With over 110 researchers onsite and more than 700 members across campuses the VHI focuses on solving grand health challenges in heart and metabolic health, leads clinical trials across all phases, and connects to Monash University's global network.
- Velos Accelerator: The pulse of health innovation. Velos embeds innovation culture, supports early-stage and scaling ventures, and creates the infrastructure for partnerships that move healthcare forward - fast.
Part of the Monash Technology Precinct
Our diverse innovation ecosystem also includes neighbouring facilities, industry and enterprise such as the Australian Synchrotron, Moderna and Monash Biomedical Imaging.
Here, you're not just co-located, you're connected - to clinicians, research platforms and opportunity. This is where discovery meets delivery and where health innovations gain the velocity they need to make a difference.
