Ibn Arabi Interreligious Research Initiative
Ibn Arabi Interreligious Research Initiative
The Ibn Arabi Interreligious Research Initiative (IAI) is an interdisciplinary research and engagement project on religion and mysticism that sits within the School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies (SOPHIS) in the Faculty of Arts.
It is named after Ibn Arabi (1165-1240), one of the world’s greatest and most influential spiritual teachers in history. The Initiative supports the study of Sufism and comparative mysticism, and examines the ways in which interreligious discourse can foster cultures of tolerance and understanding, through research projects, education programs, and community engagement.
