New PhD scholarship and Post Doctoral opportunities available

The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance is excited to announce
2x PhD scholarships and a Post Doctoral Research Fellow position that are to be funded by successful ARC grants from 2020.

Signature pedagogies for creative collaboration: Lessons for and from music

This PhD scholarship is an important part of the Australian Research Council funded project. A team led by Professor Margaret Barrett (Monash University), Professor Andrea Creech (McGill University), and, the successful PhD candidate will undertake the study over the next 3 years which aims to develop a model of the signature pedagogies and environmental supports that foster the 21st century skills of creativity, innovation, collaboration and cooperation.

Diversifying Music in Australia: Gender Equity in Jazz and Improvisation

Both a PhD scholarship and Post Doctoral Research Fellow position are available for this ARC funded grant which aims to develop new knowledge in historical and contemporary practices of inclusion, exclusion and participation in order to identify the individual, collective and institutional facilitators and constraints on gendered participation.
