Featured in Articles: Climate Change Narrative in Presidential Candidates Vision Mission Documents
A recent Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub (MCCCRH) Indonesia Node finding drew high interest from the mass media. According to the MCCCRH Indonesia Node, environmental and climate change issues are not top priorities for the three pairings of vice presidential and presidential candidates.
The finding was revealed from big data analysis of the vision and mission documents of the three pairings of presidential candidates. The vision and mission statements of the three presidential candidate pairings only include less than one percent as determined by an examination of four important terms: "energy," "environment," "climate," and "environment."
The Ganjar-Mahfud pair comprised the biggest number of words, specifically 47 terms, or approximately 1.09 percent. The Prabowo-Gibran pair then had 44 words, or 0.58 percent, whereas the Anies-Muhaimin pair had 44 words, or 0.6 percent.
The findings of the MCCCRH attracted the attention of several prominent media outlets, including Tempo, Kompas, and Tirto.
