We are an interdisciplinary team comprising people with diverse backgrounds in psychology, physics, engineering, medicine, and biology. We work together and learn from each other in our efforts to understand the brain.
![]() | Dr Sharna Jamadar Sharna is interested in how our life experiences change our brains. She is particularly interested in resilience to the cognitive ageing process and the neuroscience of parenthood. She uses multimodal neuroimaging, including fMRI and simultaneous MRI-PET to understand the neural bases of cognition. |
![]() | Dr Katharina Voigt Katharina is interested in the neural mechanisms of decision making and neuroimaging methods, including simultaneous MRI-PET |
![]() | Dr Phillip Ward Phillip is interested in cerebral physiology and metabolism |
![]() | Ms Emma Liang Emma is interested in fMRI, fPET and MR-PET analyses |
![]() | Ms Ashlea Segal Ashlea is involved in a project looking at cognitive changes in early parenthood. |
![]() | Ms Winnie Orchard Winnie investigates the brain changes associated with parenthood across the lifespan, and how these changes relate to cognition and mental health in the postpartum period. |
![]() | Ms Kelsey Perrykkad Kelsey researches how expectations and uncertainty shape our sense of self. |
![]() | Ms Nabita Singh Nabita is using fMRI to investigate neural responses associated with uncontrolled coughing in patients with chronic cough hypersensitivity vs healthy participants. She will also be examining whether there are differences in response inhibition behaviour among patients with chronic cough hypersensitivity vs healthy participants. |
![]() | Dr Hamish Deery Hamish is interested in understanding brain function and cognition across the adult lifespan, including potential shared pathways in ageing and lifestyle diseases. Ultimately identifying modifiable markers for use in advance of symptoms or disease onset. |
![]() | Mr Robert Di Paolo Rob is interested in pairing biomarkers with patterns of metabolic connectivity associated with cognitive decline in the aging brain. |
| Ms Georgina Draxler Georgina is interested in how pregnancy changes the brain. |

| Ms Chloe Stevens |
| Ms Taylah Williams |
| Mr Dylan Burrowes |
