Join our lab

We’re always happy to hear from prospective PhD and Masters students.

We have a number of student projects available, including

  • Simultaneous MRI-PET of ageing and neurodegeneration
  • MRI projects studying cognitive reserve
  • Neuroscience of parenthood

We typically supervise students from psychology and cognitive neuroscience, but the interdisciplinary nature of our group and research environment means we can support students from diverse backgrounds including biomedical imaging, medicine, physiology, philosophy, among others. Prospective students should have a first-class Honours degree (H1 or equivalent), and be competitive for externally-funded scholarship schemes.

The application process includes interviews, reference checks, a formal expression of interest, and written research proposal. Prospective students are encouraged to join our lab meetings and interact our lab members early on, to ensure a good fit between our group and the student.

We encourage prospective students to review the application procedures on the Monash University website, particularly the application dates. Prospective students should get in contact with us with sufficient lead time to complete the application process. Typically, 1-2 months prior to application closing dates.
