22nd "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Proficiency Competition for Foreign University Students (Melbourne Region)

Congratulations! Monash three students and coach awarded prizes in Chinese language proficiency competition

Three students and their coach were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance in the 22nd "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Proficiency Competition for Foreign University Students (Melbourne Region) held on June 3rd. Among 14 finalists from 5  Universities, Mina Al-Khafaji secured the 1st prize, while Ashton Shurey and Larra Bayley received Excellent Prizes for their remarkable performance. Moreover, Hailan Paulsen was honoured with an Excellent Coaching prize. This is the 5th consecutive win by Monash students!

In addition to their captivating speeches, Mina and Larra mesmerized the audience with their soulful renditions of popular Chinese songs, while Ashton impressed everyone with a captivating traditional paper-cutting art presentation. The judges' panel and audience, as well as those watching the competition through Facebook and WeChat video streams, praised their speeches and performances, leaving impressive comments on their exceptional talent.

We are delighted to announce that Mina will be representing Australian university students in the global 22nd Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign University Students, scheduled to take place in China from July to August 2023.
