A warm welcome to our visiting scholar at Monash Korean Studies - Luna Bae
Sungshin (Luna) Bae is a Gender Equality Policy Special Public Officer at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in South Korea. She has been working on gender equality policies in various government departments for 10 years. Her main project is to improve gender equality in the prosecution service and to enhance gender sensitivity in criminal proceedings. To this end, she has led a project to review the gender discriminatory elements of laws in the prosecution service and advised on gender equitable revisions to 40 regulations. She has also lectured prosecutors and investigators on gender sensitivity in criminal proceedings. While working for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, she implemented policies to support for victims of gender-based violence. She'll mainly be collaborating with Hyein Cho (Monash Korean Studies) and the Monash Gender and Family Violence Centre team.
