Dr JooYeoul (JY) Ryu will be commencing his new role as a full-time Lecturer in Korean Studies, starting 5th January, 2026. He will try to continue creating an embodied, immersive, emotionally resonant environment for learning Korean language and culture. JY's research interests include affect in foreign language learning, language learner differences, and Asian theatre and drama. He is currently conducting research projects titled 'How does ADHD impact foreign language learning in young adults?: A scoping review' and 'Exploring the role of self-reported attention and executive function in learning Korean as a foreign language at university.
