External Funding Success – The Commissioner for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (CGEPS) Research Grants Round 2022

We are thrilled to announce that Dr Hyein Cho, together with Associate Professor Marie Segrave have been awarded funding from the Commissioner for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (CGEPS) for their research project, Victorian local councils and gender equality: examining the intersections for women from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESBs). They have been awarded a total of AUD $50,691 (excl. GST).

This project has been designed to analyse and provide insight into the implementation and impact of gender equality commitments in local councils, with a focus on the specificity of how those commitments target and impact women employees from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

The findings will offer key insights into how to implement intersectional responses to gender equality and support the efforts of the Commission to work with employees and leadership in transforming the public sector more broadly.

This is the third external grant Hyein has been awarded this year and we are thrilled to see her thriving in her career.

Congratulations Ellen and Marie for this fantastic achievement!
