Korean entry level test
The following information is provided to support your enrolment in the correct language unit level.
Before completing the Language Entry Test please note:
- If you have never studied Korean, you are not required to complete the language test; please go to ‘Never studied Korean language’ below for next steps.
- You must provide a valid Monash University email address to receive the email confirming your score.
- After sitting for this test, contact the Korean Studies Section Head Daniel Pieper (Daniel.pieper@monash.edu) to set up a short placement test via Zoom.
- It is in your interest to follow the test guidelines. A distorted score as a result of external assistance will result in an incorrect entry level.
- You must not purposefully misrepresent your competence in the language in order to enrol in a level lower than your actual competence. Doing so may breach the University’s Academic Integrity requirements.

Please note that the Language Entry Test does not measure some important aspects of competence such as oral skills, and results may be biased if you are very strong in one area and weaker in others. It is therefore important that you sample the content of the unit you are recommended to enrol in and speak with the Korean Studies Coordinator if you believe you have been assigned to a unit which is either too high or too low.
