This is a dual degree opportunity that allows students to begin their studies at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, India, and complete the final two years of their engineering studies at Monash University in Australia. On successful completion, students graduate with internationally recognised engineering degrees from both institutions.

Yes. Students who successfully complete the requirements of the dual degree pathway graduate with a degree from MIT Manipal and a degree from Monash University. For example, the Chemical Engineering pathway leads to a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours) from Monash
MIT’s Bachelor of Technology programs are AICTE accredited. Monash University’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) programs are accredited by Engineers Australia, and the Software Engineering degree is further accredited by the Australian Computer Society.

Students must successfully complete the first two years of the appropriate MIT program, complete all pre-approved units and achieve the required academic grade, meet Monash English language requirements, and satisfy Australian student visa requirements.
To transfer to Monash under this dual degree, students must successfully complete the first two years of the appropriate Bachelor of Technology program at MIT Manipal with an overall GPA of 6.0.
Additionally, students must complete the units approved as equivalent to Monash units, meet Monash English language requirements, and meet Australian student visa requirements.
Students transfer to Monash in the July intake and complete the final two years of the program in Australia.
Applications for entry into Year 1 of the dual degree are submitted through the MIT/MAHE admissions portal. Please contact admissions@manipal.edu for information on entry requirements and how to access the admissions portal.
Students will be required to submit a separate application to Monash after three semesters of study at Manipal Institute of Technology. Students are advised to start the student visa process as soon as they have received the Monash University offer.
2026 annual tuition fee for Monash’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is A$59,600. Monash reserves the right to adjust tuition fees for future years of your course. Adjustments will be applied on the first day of January each year for teaching periods.
Yes, all MIT–Monash dual degree transfer students are automatically assessed for an International Study Grant of A$10,000 per year for a maximum duration of 2 years ($5000 per semester). Students will be required to study full time.
Yes. Students transferring to Monash must meet Australian student visa requirements before commencing study in Australia. Students are advised to use the services of a Monash-approved agent to apply for a student visa.

Yes, for Software Engineering students, you will be required to undertake an industry experience studio project unit in your final year. This is offered over Semester 2 (July) and the summer semester break (November to February). You must be enrolled in the face-to-face campus mode.
